GE-Proton 11-7 has arrived and there's quite a lot of gaming improvements here for SteamOS / Linux fans.

Confused on all the Proton versions? Fair enough, there's a lot. Check out our guide on all the different versions of Proton and also how to install GE-Proton. Usually you'll want to stick with Valve's official Proton unless there's something you really need in GE-Proton for best support.

Key changes
  • Wine Wayland improvements.
  • Improvements for launchers for NCSOFT Purple, Lineage II, Forza Horizon 5, Marvel Rivals.
  • There's also bug fixes for the likes of Black Desert Online, Final Fantasy XIV, Lineage II, Aion, Civilization VI, Dragon Age: Inquisition Painkiller Black Edition, Diablo IV, Forza Horizon 6, Path of Exile 1 & 2 and more.
  • Video playback fixes.
  • Controller improvements (like DS5 / DualSense).
  • Improvements for the Steam Overlay.

We already know GE uses generative AI for some bits, and it seems the changelogs are now using AI to round everything up because they're a lot more wordy and in-depth on everything with entirely different formatting. For better, or worse, that's how GE updates roll now.
