Sea of Thieves readies multiple events and some new Custom Seas options

We sure hope you like a bunch of events because that appears to be the primary thrust of Sea of Thieves’ upcoming season, as the devs have put forth their customary video digest showcasing what’s coming down the pike in Season 21 when it starts on Thursday, September 17th.

In terms of events, there’s a new Talk Like a Pirate Day event that lets players fly a special flag to indicate their willingness to verbally speak with other ship crews, which awards some ship cosmetics for doing so. There are multiple returning events for the next season otherwise, including a community weekend, the Tricksters and Treaters event, the Festival of the Damned, and regular events such as Bilge Rat Weekenders, Fight Nights, and Emissaries of Fortune.

For those who continue to enjoy making their own experiences in Custom Seas, there are several new options arriving such as customizable treasure placement presets, day/night cycle speed options, and a toggle option for seeing other ships on the world map. Finally, Season 21 promises the return of Last Ship Standing, another new season pass with special goodies for those who unlock everything, and the inclusion of more cosmetics for in-game gold that Rare Ltd. discussed earlier.
