Stranger Than Heaven TGS Stage Features ADO’s First Character Scene, Live Music

During Stranger Than Heaven’s Tokyo Game Show 2026 panel, comprising a talk show and live stage with Takaya Kuroda, Yokoyama, and various game staff, multiple musical performances were showcased. 

The show opens with the MASH String Orchestra and singer elley performing “If I Sing of Love.” Later, the show shows the game’s first public scene of ADO as the character Keiko Shirai.

Near the end of the show, actor Hidenari Ugaki, who plays Goro Majima in the Yakuza series, confirmed that he will play various nameless background roles this time. 

Lastly, the show nearly ends with the songs “Fading Light” and “Mr. B,” and the finale features one final performance to close it out.

Note that the song titles may not be accurate, since the broadcast used automated English subtitles that were more than a bit awkward.

The title follows protagonist Makoto Daito across five decades of Japanese history, from 1915 to 1965. Makoto, born to an American father and Japanese mother, loses both parents early in life before stowing away on a ship bound for Japan.

Each chapter takes place during a different historical period and introduces new criminal factions and entertainment districts.

Makoto possesses strong musical talent, and players can collect environmental sounds from around the world to create original songs later in the game. During combat, players independently control Makoto’s left and right limbs using the shoulder triggers.

Stranger Than Heaven will be released for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Game Pass, and PC via Steam on January 15, 2027.
