The latest Nintendo Switch 2 update just brought back one of the most beloved features of the Nintendo Wii era.
With the September 10 release of the v23.0.0 update for the Nintendo Switch 2, gamers can officially revisit the beloved if widely underrated Mii Maker's music feature with three newly added tracks. These include the Mii Maker songs from the Nintendo Wii, 3DS, and Wii U editions of the Mii Maker, showcasing just how dedicated Nintendo is to filling in the gaps for similarly dedicated longtime fans.
Mii Maker Music Is Officially Coming to Switch 2
The addition of three tracks to the Mii Maker music feature is just one small part of the wider v23.0.0 update for the Nintendo Switch 2. The latest update also added GameChat improvements such as being able to start a new chat without having to invite online friends and access to a personal chat history, VRR support for the console's TV mode, the ability to share Miis via custom QR codes, and an integrated play activity tracker.
Easily the most exciting new feature included in the v23.0.0 update for the Nintendo Switch 2, however, is the addition of system transfers between Switch 2 consoles. Not only does this make moving from one console to another an almost seamless endeavor, it ensures that collectors who are looking to swap their current model for new limited-edition releases can do so without worry of giving up on past progress or manual transfer times.
Since its release back in June 2025, the Nintendo Switch 2 has quickly become one of the hottest consoles of its generation, even in spite of price increases and dips in overall sales at various points. With each new update, the gaming experience on the Nintendo Switch 2 has only gotten better, leaving fans with big expectations for things to come in 2027.

So far, 2027 is shaping up to be a major year for Nintendo Switch 2 gamers, as major franchise titles like Pokémon Winds & Waves creep ever closer to their release dates. In early September, it was reported that Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves, which will mark the tenth generation of mainline Pokémon games, are expected to arrive some time in November 2027, falling roughly in line with past franchise releases.
This is just one of what seem to be an endless number of purported leaks regarding Pokémon Winds & Waves, which has been the subject of dozens of rumors over the past few months. And, while many of these have only helped to build up the hype surrounding Pokémon Winds & Waves as a whole, none have been addressed in any official capacity as of yet.
Well ahead of the release of Pokémon Winds & Waves, Nintendo Switch 2 gamers will be able to revisit another beloved franchise with the release of Metroid Ravenous on January 28. Metroid Ravenous will feature a somewhat different Samus than the interstellar hero fans are used to, as the events of Metroid Fusion have left her with Metroid DNA coursing through her veins, giving Samus the ability to feed upon her enemies' energies and absorb their power.
