Yeah, World of Warcraft Forever is getting all the hype right now, but Retail WoW also got its fair share of announcements at the BlizzCon opening ceremonies this afternoon.
First, Ion Hazzikostas revealed the next major patch for the game, called Eclipse. Hopefully, you’re not sick of Xal’atath because she’s front and center and real close to victory.
And second, we got a quick teaser for The Last Titan, the third part of the Worldsoul trilogy and the 12th expansion for the 2004 MMORPG. No dates for it just yet, though we can probably make some estimates now that we know Blizzard will be showing more early on in 2027.
“At the midpoint of The Worldsoul Saga in the Midnight expansion, World of Warcraft’s next major update Eclipse (12.2) sees Xal’atath drawing ever closer to her goal of claiming Azeroth’s Worldsoul,” the company says. “WoW’s next expansion The Last Titan stands to be the culmination of over two decades of Warcraft, bringing an extraordinary chapter of storytelling to a close while laying the groundwork for what comes next. Players can expect more information to come early next year.”
“We’re putting the war back in Warcraft,” Blizzard’s Holly Longdale boomed on stage in her signature cosplay.
