Attack on Titan will return on December 9, and its upcoming release is available to preorder right now. The third entry in the Koei Tecmo game series is hitting Steam one day before its official release date of December 10, so people who preorder the game now will be able to enjoy the title one day early.
In Attack on Titan 3, players can experience the entire story from the hit anime and manga from beginning to end. While players will control an original character, they'll still be a member of the Survey Corps and will have the chance to fight alongside fan-favorite characcters like Levi and Mikasa. While PC players will get the game early, the title is also coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
Attack on Titan 3 Confirms It's Launching This December
Attack on Titan 3 is coming soon, and fans of the game can play it in style. Alongside the game's standard edition, Attack on Titan 3 will also be available as a steelbook launch edition that includes an art print and bonus DLC. There's also a Digital Deluxe Edition that gives players an Early Access key that unlocks the game 72 hours earlier.
Players who have already played through Attack on Titan 2 or Attack on Titan 2: Final Battle and have save data on the same platform as Attack on Titan 3 will be able to enjoy additional bonuses. Those bonuses have yet to be revealed, but the game looks to be perfect for both newcomes and current fans of the eries.
Attack on Titan 3 was first revealed at Summer Game Fest 2026, and will serve as the first new entry in the gaming series since the manga wrapped up in April 2021 and the anime in November 2023. The first game was released worldwide in August 2016, with its immediate sequel, Attack on Titan 2, following in March 2018. Koei Tecmo revealed the official gameplay trailer for Attack on Titan 3, seen above, in early July 2026.

Attack on Titan Made a Theatrical Comeback Earlier This Year
Before the announcement of Attack on Titan 3 and its additional features, the beloved anime made its return to theaters in the early months of 2026. Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK was re-released in theaters across the United States and Canada on May 18 as part of Crunchyroll's Anime Nights.
"Back on the big screen for Crunchyroll Anime Nights in an awesome new 4k version! Eren’s apocalyptic rumbling begins, unleashing an unstoppable wave of Colossal Titans marching to crush the world. Having uncovered Paradis’s brutal history and the world’s hatred for Eldians, he commits to eliminating all threats. Now, former allies and enemies unite in desperation for one final mission — to stop him before nothing remains."
Reviews of Attack on Titan: THE LAST ATTACK were exceedingly positive following the movie's initial release in 2024, which brought emotional heights and exciting battles back to the big screen. Despite being a compilation of the anime's episodes, media critics were still able to celebrate MAPPA's sending off such an iconic series in full big-screen glory.
"It's a testament to MAPPA's animation and artistry that the cinematic version of The Rumbling hasn't lost its apocalyptic horror. Similarly, the Alliance's final battle against Eren is even more exhilarating in a theater. Hearing the anime's original voice cast deliver their final lines in cinematic sound will draw the intended emotional responses. The film's many shortcomings don't ruin the fact that fans are able to see Attack on Titan's grand finale on an equally grand screen," Angelo Delos Trinos wrote in CBR's official review.
Attack on Titan 3 releases on Dec. 9, 2026 on Steam and December 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
